We’re proud to present “Plenty,” our first full-length, technically due out on January 15th, 2010, but we won’t tell if you go to http://music.shoutmagic.com and give it a listen (or, hell, go ahead and download the whole thing). If you’re old school and still like the look and feel of the ol’ Compact Disc, they’ll be available from Chief City Recordings in the new year!

We’ve posted a selection of tracks from the album PLENTY, which drops January 15, 2010. There’s a handy player to your left, or you can stream and download the them here. After almost 2 years in production, we are elated to get these out onto the internet superhighway. In addition to the ubiquitous digital release, we are producing a very limited number of handmade CD’s, if you are committed to tactile product, we’d be happy to send you one.

You can also now easily download all of our previously released material, in your preferred format.

We’ll be working on some videos for this release, as well as some new songs we write collaboratively across the country and beyond the sea. Let us know what you think of the new tunes!

Well, hello. With so many digital avenues of communication available, we thank you for taking the time to visit our lowly olde-fashioned website!

The Shout Magic team is working to get our latest recording finally, really, actually finished. It’s 20 tracks of music, so it’s a little meaty. We recorded it toward the end of May 2008, so the hope is to have honest, real, physical copies around the year anniversary.

In the player below you’ll hear a rough cut of one of the tracks, called “Just So.”

Here’s what the cover’s going to look like. We’ll be sure to let you know when we’re all done!

is on the road! Michael Hicks has set-up base in the District of Columbia, Mikey is eyeing the Netherlands and Steve is currently in Nebraska. Word has it Chuck is working on the house, getting it ready and stuff!

We handed out about 15 fabric-bound pre-release CD’s at our last philly show, and the new, full-featured album should be available this October on this site. Thanks to Alina Josan and colleencatherine for their leadership in the visual arts.

‘Plenty’ on the way, Show this weekend!

We are now mixing our first full-length, “Plenty.” We are very pleased with how it’s coming out. 20 tracks. We will be offering our first batch of new recordings this coming weekend, and to celebrate, we’ll be performing a gala celebration in West Philly! Due to logistics, this may be our LAST live show for a while! Friday, August 15th, doors at 9, 4513 Walnut St.

Recording in the woods

Shout Magic will be recording a full-length endeavour for a week in May at a secluded ski lodge in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. We will cook a turkey, no doubt.

Consider donating to the intensive (and somewhat pricey) process by purchasing a t-shirt or CD! More details forthcoming.

Come out to the Tritone, May 3 — We’ll be off from the road until July, so don’t miss out. Stay tuned for our live set on WKDU.

It was a radfest of a show! We haven’t seen the Tritone more packed, nice to see a bunch of new faces and many Shout Magicians in attendance.

our cd release show was freakin awesome! thanks to everyone who made it out, especially those who bought CD’s and t-shirts, good looks! saudi arabia and karma whores were so good, so good. good to see josh from badmintonstamps, damian & tracy from fire halo, dan kev jonny from z-radio and our friends from comrade, philadelphia, DC and new york!
